In short

Your AI conversations stay on your machine. The free tool never uploads them anywhere. We collect the minimum needed to run the service, and we never sell your data or share it for advertising.

On your machine

• The archive, index and file backups are stored only in ~/.devmem on your computer.
• The dashboard runs on your machine (127.0.0.1) behind an access token.
• The secret scan runs locally; real secret values are never displayed or stored.

iPhone app

• Conversations you import, their archive, the search index, and your Autopilot projects and rules are stored only inside the app on your iPhone.
• The app reads the export file you pick; it never modifies or uploads it.
• All free features work offline, and the app contains no tracking, ads or analytics. The app only connects to the internet for Pro features, if you activate them.
• With Pro: when you use Ask, Explain, a project summary or task extraction in Autopilot, your question or a short excerpt of each relevant message (at most 400 characters) goes to our server with secrets masked. Our server sends it to Anthropic's Claude API to generate the answer; we don't store the request or the reply. The app re-checks your license with our server about once a week.
• Autopilot notifications are created on your iPhone itself. Nothing is added to the Reminders app unless you ask for it in a rule and grant permission.
• App data is included in your iPhone backup (iCloud or computer) according to your settings. Deleting the app removes its data from the phone.

Waitlist

We store your email, language, sign-up time and referral tag (if any). We don't store your IP address with the sign-up. We use your email only to tell you about the launch and the offer. Ask us to delete it anytime by replying to any email from us.

Pro features

• Your license key is stored on your device and validated by our server with Lemon Squeezy (our payment provider). We keep only a hash of the key and a daily request count.
• When you use Explain or Ask through dovmem, a short summary or excerpts with secrets masked (never full conversations) goes to our server, which sends it to Anthropic's Claude API to generate the answer. We don't store the request or the reply.
• You can use your own model instead; then nothing passes through us.

Payments and server logs

Payments are handled by Lemon Squeezy; we never see your card details. Our web server (nginx) keeps standard access logs with IP address and request time to protect the service from abuse; they rotate out automatically within about two weeks.
